I'm so proud of myself that i went to watch The Eye,
a US-remake version of the horror film, Jian Gui.
The last horror movie which I watched was Shutter few years back.
I was really reluctant to watch it,
but the tickets were already bought.
and yeah,
i was traumatized like nobody's business.
even up till date,
the images remained in my mind rather vividly.
the culprits; they know themselves.
"good" friends luh?

Alright,
at least US horror films are bombarded with more sound effects than gruesome images,
which in this case, is my preference.
Sound effects make your heart throbs only at that moment whereas unsightly images get stuck in your mind like glue.
At least, this is so for me.
It's damn hard for me to rid it off my mind.
Anyway, I'm quite surprised that I take it quite well.
Despite the similar story plots as to Jian Gui,
The Eye leaves me with some space for emotional imagination.
I love Jessica Alba's performance.
I love the camera works.
I believe that Cinematography plays an important part in allowing the audience to connect with the characters,
other than just evoking feelings of fear, which might be the ultimate goal of a horror film.

All in all,
my first attempt after years has allowed me to see horror movies in a new light.

woo yeah!
i'm a happy goober.
heavenly muffins fresh from ovens right infront me.. =D
